Sharing Podcasts

Spotify organizes podcasts in a variety of categories, such as Storytellers, Sports & Recreation, and Comedy, and users can subscribe to individual podcasts, manage downloads, and share podcasts. Word of mouth is the best way to grow your podcast. Here's how you can inspire and equip your audience to share your podcast. Share audio from your podcast, music, or recordings on social media by turning it into custom-branded videos ready for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & more.

How your fans and followers can hear your podcast episodes in an instant from Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and beyond.

Once your podcast has been recorded, and published, sharing it with the masses is your next major mission. Spotify has worked to make this undertaking as seamless as possible via integrations with various platforms. Now, sharing your podcast on social media and across the internet requires just a few clicks, and your fans and followers will be able to see your content almost instantly.

Here are five simple ways to share your podcast series, individual episodes, and playlists in a fast, easy, and visually engaging manner. For each of these, just head to any podcast, episode, or playlist on your Spotify app, open the Share menu via the “three dots” button (on episode pages, the Share icon is right next to the play button), and select your social media platform of choice. Below, learn more about each sharing option.

Instagram Stories

Screenshots are (thankfully) a thing of the past. Spotify’s integration with Instagram Stories allows you to share podcasts, episodes, and playlists to your IG stories with a clickable link that directs your followers straight to your content on Spotify. On the share menu, select Instagram Stories. This will open up a page in IG with your chosen content’s artwork. Here, you can embellish it with stickers, captions, or any other attention-grabbing add-ons, then send it to individual followers or post it to your Story. Once it's live, viewers will see an option to “Play on Spotify” on the upper left corner of the screen.

Facebook Stories

Spotify is similarly linked with Facebook Stories. Just go to the podcast or episode you want to share on Spotify, select Facebook, then Facebook Stories. Add effects and anything else to customize your Story before posting it. Anyone viewing your Story will see the content’s artwork with a clickable “Play on Spotify” button below. This link will bring them directly to the podcast page or individual episode on Spotify.

Snapchat

Sharing Podcasts

Our Snapchat integration works just as efficiently. From the Share menu on any podcast series, episode, or playlist, click on the Snapchat option. A new Snap will pop up instantly with the full artwork displayed. Edit it as you see fit then send out your Snap. When viewing, your friends and followers can swipe up to open Spotify and start playing the podcast you’ve shared.

Sharing Links

When you head to the sharing menu on any podcast show, individual episode, or playlist, you’ll see a few other options available. You can share any piece of content through Messages, WhatsApp, and Twitter or anywhere else via a link that will direct followers to that content in the Spotify app.

Scannable Spotify Codes

Spotify Codes bring the sharing experience to a whole new level—even when your fans and potential followers are offline. These scannable codes work like QR codes and can be used both digitally and in real life. You can grab a Spotify Code (which looks like a sound wave on the bottom of the content’s artwork) from any podcast, episode, or playlist on the Spotify app. Click the “...” button, then tap on the show art featuring the code, and hit “Save to Photos.” You can then share this photo online or print it out and put it on anything you want, such as flyers, posters, stickers, or any type of merchandise. To activate the Spotify Code, fans will need to open up the Spotify app, go to search, tap the camera icon, and hover the camera over the code, which will take them directly to your podcast.
